This bench is designed to conduct tests on break-down value measurement via an extinguishing agent jet under GOST 51057-2001 and NPB 316-2003.
Both portable and mobile different capacity extinguishers, portable and mobile high flow rate fire fighting systems, as well as other hand-held fire equipment may be tested at this bench.
Test techniques are based on electric current value measurement between a fire fighting system nozzle and a grounded conductor that occurs as a result of EA jet and a power supply unit simulator interaction. The simulator is a target representing itself a metal plate (1000±25) x (1000±25) mm in size fixed on insulator-supports and connected to a secondary winding of the transformer providing the alternative voltage of (36±4) kV between the plate and the ground.
The bench undergoes annual approval tests, the whole instrumentation employed during the tests being validated.
